Welcome to gay nightlife in Vienna. Most of the LGBTIQ communities bars are located in the 4th, 5th and 6th district of Vienna on both sides of Naschmarkt.

The gay village in Vienna is in districts 5 and 6 around Naschmarkt.

You just came to Vienna and are ready for going out? Les us recommend you some venues where you can start your night. The bars we list here are mainly focusing on gay and bisexual men. Lesbians, bisexuals, trans, intersex persons and heterosexuals are welcome as well, but the main part of the partygoers are gays.

There’s something for everybody in Vienna. Most of the gay bars can be found in the gay village at Naschmarkt or close in the 6th, 5th and 4th district. You can spend a whole weekend without being bored. The best thing is you do a tour through all of them.

 

Augenblick

The moment is run by the former owners of the Cheri in the 5th district. The crew is the same, only now there are also great things to eat.

City Bar

Just across the street of Why Not, City Bar has been open since a pretty long time, but now, they are officially waving the rainbow flag.

Felixx

Felixx

The Felixx is a cocktail and wine bar where you can spend many hours with your friends to exchange the latest gossip. In summer you can sit on a few tables outside and watch the people on Gumpendorfer Strasse and across the street from the Top Kino. Very popular are also the many different theme nights and drag shows of local superstars.

Gugg

Gugg serves as club house of HOSI Wien (an Austrian gay inititive) and is open for public on selected days only. If you want to have additional Information about homosexual, lesbian and transgender Vienna, Gugg is the place to go.

Kisss Bar

Next to Apollo cinema, Kisss Bar Vienna has opend its doors. In addition to an extensive list of beverages the bar also has a little menue and offers breakfast every Sunday.

Mango Bar

Mango Bar attracts mainly young men - and their followers. The music playlist features charts hits and sometimes (very) old Austrian chansons. Mango bar offers a big variety of cocktails and is a good starting point for a night out in Vienna. And usually, it’s the bar that closes last.

The Hive

The Hive is the newest addition to Vienna's gay bars and the successor to Red Carpet. It has been renovated and designed. There's still a dance floor in the cellar and an brand-new outside area.

Schik Bar

The bar was taken over by new owners some time ago, so we have not yet made up our opinion about this little neighborhood bar. Just check it out!

Village Bar

Village bar is also located in the gay neighborhood around the Naschmarkt. The crowd is hip and trendy, corresponding to the interior of the bar and mostly gathered around a huge video wall displaying popular house tracks. It’s a see-and-be-seen place.

The bars above are all gay, respectively LGBTIAQ bars. But certainly, plenty of other bars are gay-friendly. We want to introduce you to some of them.

 

Robert Goodman

Goodman opens at 3 am in the morning and is the last resort from party people all over the city. When other clubs close their doors, the crowd moves on to Goodmann. And everybody is there. Strict door policy!

Downstairs

Downstairs is a cocktailbar a few steps away from Mariahilfer Straße relatively close to the gay neighborhood. It doesn’t especially cater to gay and lesbian clientele, but queers are very welcome, as the display of a rainbow flag on the counter indicates. You can play pool billard and darts till the early morning and the drinks menue is really extensive. The cocktails are very tasty and most importantly pretty cheap compared to other cocktailbars. And for sure there’s a cocktail of the month …

Splendid Bar Italia is a gay-friendly respectively LGBT-friendly Italian Café right in the center of Vienna’s first district.
