KHM - Kunsthistorisches Museum Vienna

KHM is one of the most important museums of art history in the world. It mainly features paintings by artists like Peter Paul Rubens, Albrecht Dürer, Hieronymus Bosch, Raffael, Tizian, Arcimboldo, Pieter Bruegel the Elder and many more, but also one of the best Egyptian and Antiquities collections in the world.

The KHM is one of the most important museums in the world and contains some of the most impressive artworks of humandkind - staring with the Egyptioan and Near Eastern Collection, Greek and Roman Antiquities, the picture gallery with works of Rubens and Bräugel, as well as the outstanding Collection of Sculpter and Decorative Arts (Kunstkammer).

But not only the art work is in a league of their own, also its architecture and interior - e.g. Gustav Klimt created parts of the mural paintings - wich makes KHM a must-visit!

The Collection of Greek and Roman Antiquities displays perfect effigies of the human body - a lot of them after Antinoos, the beloved companion of Emporer Hadrian - the most portraied human in the history of mankind and the last mortal to be deified by emporer and senate who found a considerable amount of adorers in both parts of the Roman Empire.

Over the year, KHM presents various touring exhibitions and also exhibs curated from the big depot of the museum. You really must go there, at least four times a year.
