Culture Shock in Egypt

Expect people to talk to you. Not everyone wants money, people are often just curious as many tourists travel in groups. Especially if you are fair-skinned and blond haired. Don't be scared, nobody will harm you. The Egyptian youth loves to spend their time in the evenings, doing the same like our youth does - watching videos on their mobiles with friends, texting, etc.

It seems to me that talking to a Westerner is kind of a test of courage for the boys. Also, they appreciate the possibility to try out their English. Often, there will be no more than "Hello, how are you? Where are you from?"
