Soaring Above the Ancient Wonders: Ballooning in Luxor
If you are not afraid of heights, ballooning is just amazing. You will go to the West Bank of the Nile, close to the Ramesseum and if the weather is fine, you'll probably have the best look over all the ancient sites, provided that the wind blows in the right direction. The only obstacle - at least for me - is the pick up time.
If you are an early riser, you probably won't have a problem with the pick-up time of around 4:00 am. because all the ballooning adventures in Luxor start at sunrise. And I for myself still want to feel like I am on holiday and not in the military.
This is why I didn't do the ballooning thing. Instead, I chose a Feluca ride on the Nile at sunset. A Feluca is a traditional Egyptian Nile sailboat and you don't have to get a transport across the Nile. There are probably several sailboats docking within 5 min walking distance of your hotel.
